What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Hi, getting ready to swap the 2 x front doors on the 97 D90, and want to secure them with countersunk stainless torx pin bolts. It may slow the thieving bas***ds down a bit?
Does anyone know the size, I think they are m8 x 25?

Unsure what length they are but get the a fraction longer & add a locking nut behind the nylock nut.do it top & bottom on either hinge & the doors will never be removed from the outside ;)
 
Could be a leak off the Bead my summer tyres are always a pain when first on as they have been stored all winter..

Mind you this last year 90 has been off the road a lot more than on..

Thinking i might flog it, will be a toss up on 110 or 90 to keep..

Prices they are making at moment could sell both and buy a 5 year old low mileage L200...

Would miss it, as soon as i sold it but getting fed up with neither on the road and both requiring work

Today i measured the height of my 110 from ramp to centre of arches..

I have had two tyre valves split and a deflated tyre whilst parked on the marina. My paranoia is telling me it’s not a coincidence.

probably parked where someone else thinks it is their space...lol

or they were jealous of the landy, or god forbid u rubbed alongside their boat with yours...lol

I’ve had a few issues with some druggies on the marina,

so have my suspicions...

But as I said, it might be me being paranoid? Just to be safe, I’m going to install a camera trap.

today i have been opening packets lol

Today i worked on 2 of mine, one i have made a big puddle of diesel in the grain store...Took a leaf out of Clarkson & co........Run ...RUn Away fast

Then worked on my non running 110 4c in the barn, think clutch master cylinder knackered...
reservoir full of fluid,, took pipe out of top, missus worked pedal...piston moves in and out..... no fluid movement...

Oh yeah and i rested a spanner on my 90 that is minus a Fuel Injection Pump while worked on my 110 does that count...

So 3 none working....winner...

Got a pair of bolt-on brackets to mount a high lift on my roofrack or inside the Landy. Mrs K said I’d been buying unnecessary crap again... o_O:(:mad:
 
Last job before the MOT done which was to replace the rusted shock turret on one side. Decided I might as well replace both, and while I was there change the shocks and springs.
The lower shock nuts were a pain in the ass. In the end I had to drill them out and get in there with a nut splitting chisel, which is now my new favorite tool.

On first inspection after removing everything the rust did look pretty bad, but a quick wire brush and it came up ok. Cleaned up as much as I could access of the chassis and applied a thin coat of old engine oil.
Whoever replace the other shock turret last time didn't have the turret ring, so that was held on by 4 nuts and bolts instead, a random mix of imperial and metric for good measure.

But it's all done now and the MOT is booked for Thursday again. I gave the covers a little spray of paint as well just to finish them off.

Those turrets look nice @Wonk

Just done mine, wished i has thought of painting them.

Bottom nut son mine came undone with lots of swearing, i had soaked them in PLUS GAS for 2 days.
Spanner and hammer to shock it , but they were two spanners linked together tight all the way off..

I would take credit for painting the turrets, but they were painted when I bought them! Galvanised as well so hopefully that isn't a job I'm going to have to repeat any time soon.
I spent a good amount of time on the first shock nut soaking it and trying to shock it off with various tools. The other side I started with the drill first, much quicker.

I think allot of this Defender has fused together over the years. There are no more nuts and bolts holding on parts. Just solid chunks of metal that look allot like a Defender.

When I get to the brake lines I think I'll end up having to replace the whole system from master cylinder to pads.

Found out why the 110 wouldn't start.. the cable from the solenoid to the starter, was loose .. undid nut, cleaned connector reconnected, cleaned the other connections.. started OK..

It's -1C out there but windy so the feels like is -9C.. bathroom heater is on now... Long soak in the bath soon to warm up...
 
I started my 110 project... filled the barn with smoke and then removed the battery for the other 110 4c.. Looks like a land rover Bone yard here..

Then i put battery on the 110 4c at the other farm location, towed it out of barn with telehandler, took lots of pictures ready to put it on the bay.

connected jump leads to my L200 and spun that over, good news it turns over but doesn't start
