Oh and I'm excited cos I'm picking up my series 2 tomorrow. I'm like a kid on Christmas eveCos I googled it after I thought something wasn't right
Cos I've been up since half two and I'm in a rush
Ramsgate for about 9amAin't been on another welding crusade have ya?? reckon you'll be alright if you just drain it?
Where you off to tomorrow?
Ramsgate for about 9am
Ramsgate for about 9am
Any excess will drain out of the front oil seal that's been on my list of jobsWhy did you fill it there then just check for excess and drain accordingly surely?
It's the correct level now through the correct filling hole, I just wondered where the litre I put in the wrong hole will end upJaysus, definitely worth checking level before you set off
same place as the rest of the t/box oilIt's the correct level now through the correct filling hole, I just wondered where the litre I put in the wrong hole will end up
But then I'd have a longer drive to work every dayIf you lived closer, it would not take so long...........
Have a safe trip.
Cheers
Strewth it must have been low then cos I put nearly a litre and a half insame place as the rest of the t/box oil
When I took the proper fill plug out it was still below the level it needed to be
See above postIf you added a litre, how low was the oil level, they only take about 2 ish litres when you do an oil change.
Cheers
See above post
Oh yesI did when I posted. before you did the refill ,was it as whiney as a whiney thing having a whine?
Cheers
youd have had just over a litre then which is not uncommon, i often find similar, as long as the intermediate and low gear can reach it ,box still gets lubed, but obviously eventually they wont, allways worth checking before towing or a longish journeyStrewth it must have been low then cos I put nearly a litre and a half in
Oh yes
I'll report back tomorrowyoud have had just over a litre then which is not uncommon, i often find similar, as long as the intermediate and low gear can reach it ,box still gets lubed, but obviously eventually they wont, allways worth checking before towing or a longish journey
It'd been whining that bad I thought it was new transfer box timeWell, it is probably in a better way now........I had to put 1/4 litre in mine this weekend as the intermediate has leaked over the last 8K miles. I really need to fix the darn thing.
Cheers
