Hi folks, anyone able to identify this hole on my 59 series 2 gearbox? Can’t seem to locate it on the workshop manual. Any advice on the proper plug? It drives pretty well without being able to keep oil in it, but probably should be addressed
A bolt?
Couldn't resist
View attachment 241321 You’re right - it’s the flywheel drain hole. Plug is optional according to the manual I have. See attachment. I haven’t got one fitted and all’s been well for ever
They only leak if you put oil in themSurely you are not saying you own a series, and the rear main does not leak?

Engine would have had a bracket that the plug screwed into for storage when removed from housing, have a a look in case it is there. in the same vicinity.
