What did you do with your Range Rover today

If you want to look up which you should have, all it is …. Is….they don’t go off MY they go by VIN. The information is on here somewhere coz that’s where I got it.
Interesting. However(I assume you are talking about the rear view mirror issue?) There was no where on the online form to put the vin only the reg and if it's tinted, oh, and if it has solar glass. The autoglass guy muttered something about someone has fitted the BMW rv mirror as it's the early type (I dunno!) So maybe their glass and mirror mount was correct and some previous owner has fitted an earlier rv mirror, the screen isn't original.
She's a dhse so should have the dipping mirror and does.

Got the passenger side head off today :vb-smash:

There was heaps of coolant in the head and it spilled into the 4th cylinder :( The cylinder probably ended up being 1/5th full of coolant and oil which is un-ideal. Put a bunch of rags in to soak it up.

Hopefully drivers side head off tomorrow!
Both sides did that on Otto.
Soaked it up with an old bath sponge, wiped dry with kitchen roll, then sprayed it with high flashpoint solvent to drive out water, left that to evaporate and then lightly oiled them against corrosion. Been fine since.

I discovered that you can change what appears in the cluster display by selecting the options in here

Drivers side head removed today, looking less good than the passenger side.

I can feel that gouge with my finger nail pretty easily. Not sure if it's completely cracked or not, I don't have a dye penetrating test yet.

That's not been blowing, the HG is clean and i would say not a crack

Yeah, no steam cleaned cylinders.
I've had overpressuring and sluggish underload/when hot. So something is askew.
Found these on the HG as well.

The cracks in a rv8 that occur when we talk about a cracked block and slipped liners usually occur part way down the cylinder around the base of a head bolt where it's nice and thin. You can't see it while the liner is in place

For anyone who cares to read .

I think you'll be fine. We gave Otto's blocks a gentle polish using light oil and 2000 grit wet or dry wrapped tightly around a plasterer's float. His gasket was totally burnt away between the front 2 cylinders on the driver's side. Been fine for 5000+ miles now. Heads were both skimmed a bit too.

What symptoms lead you to remove the heads in the first place?

I was really hoping to find something obviously wrong with my headgasket because I have symptoms :(

If you're getting over pressuring there's several reasons.. small leaks, blockage in the small pipes - there's 3, 2 for the throttle body heater and 1 radiator bleed return. Also i think the throttle body can leak (not sure)
Do you leave lpg? The vapourisors can leak lpg into the coolant.

I’ve done the coolant system dance till I was blue in the face. Going through radiators, hoses, replaced this and that. Ended up getting a sniff test that confirmed bubbles coming up in the overflow tank. Which is why I pulled the heads.
No LPG.
