FOB not working this morning. Had to use Merc C180 Coupe instead !! (40mpg on M25 & M3)

Cleaned contacts & changed batteries this evening. Then had to do EKA & re sync but all working again
Turn off the EKA function and the immobiliser and you could have gone to work in the P38 just using the key blade.

When i had the screen done in my p38 they refused to do it at home -too heavy.
Went to Shrewsbury and they fitted a screen that was damaged. Had to go back again for a second screen.
When i needed a new screen on this l322 they fitted 3 screens over about 14 months FFS
Was that autoglass with the p38?
I remember you had issues with the heated screen packing up quite often or something like that with replacement screens and rain sensor issues with the l322 screens.
My screen has the crack in the top passenger side and hasn't reached the wiper sweep area yet but autoglass don't know that and don't ask anyway. The crack could be massive and I'm sure illegal and or dangerous to drive so they would have to come out to my home or recover the car. As it is, it's OK to drive for now but I want to remove the bits so they can concentrate on sealing it proper and not rushing it because they can't run over the time slot or something. I've read somewhere that they come with new top and maybe bottom trims too which would be nice but just incase they don't...another reason to remove them myself as they are easily bent especially if you run them over which I might have done a couple of weeks ago :vb-groan2: .

yes the p38
with this L322.. new screen because of a big stone chip right in the middle of drivers side.. screen wasnt compatible with the rain sensor.. then they replaced the rain sensor.. still didnt work.. then another screen, supposedly OEM but it was actually like for like! then I got an OEM land rover screen and it worked straight away
still not 100% sorted as the rain sensor doesnt fit properly.. likely because its a replacement.. but it works.. mostly.. so i've given up

My rain sensor is the MK1 eyeball, very reliable, works with any type of windscreen or even no windscreen:)

Many years ago I wanted intermittent wipe for my Jag XJ6 Series 2. All it had was Off, Slow & Fast, plus the single wipe. Made a small electronics board that would remeber the time between two single manual wipes, and then keep doing that interval. When it worked, it was much better than anything I've had since, mostly because it's a human deciding the wipe interval !!

i wish i had the imagination to even conceive something like that, never mind the skill to actually do it!

Mine was simpler, just a 555 timer and a potentiometer to vary the interval.

Found the original Wiper Timer article in case anyone is interested. Not that we need it these days !!

Taxed it. Goodness it’s a lot of cash. And why do the b@($+@(45 charge more if you pay every six months (or monthly)?! Do they not know we Land Rover owners can never look for far in advance? (Because… #TURBOS😳)

Insured it today and pleasantly surprised that it had only gone up a quid and a few pence. Had to add business use however as the wife now has to, very occasionally, travel to different units under the same nhs trust for training purposes or staff shortages. That added only another £10 which was another pleasant surprise considering all the talk of premiums going through the roof. 2001 p38 dhse.

Shirley thats just "travelling to work" though?
But still not a bad price.
