Keeping them adjusted is the key, or just dont use it;). They dont really wear out as they are only applied at stop under normal circumstances.
Think they recommend 50K cycles then cables need doing.

Sounds like a job worth doing them and shouldn't be hard. Must need adjustment because if i apply the brake while in gear it still creeps forward a few feet then applies more pressure and stops the car

Its certainly easier to adjust them rather than have to get to the actuator, so yes worth keeping on top of:).

I've done about 3500 since i got the car, and had the diag for about 2000 miles. I've never requested a regen via diag and reset the oil service yesterday.
In those 2000 miles only figured out how to get live data in the last 1500. Since then soot grams (12g) and remaining volume (0) haven't changed
I just struggle to believe that every time i check, the grand just happens to be the same and why isn't the car in limp mode if there's no volume remaining?
Ignorance is bliss etc but I'd rather know what I'm up against
I'd say for whatever reason its just not software isn't reading the sensor or rather the ecu right more than anything, I wouldn't say its anything to worry about as it is likely doing small regens anyway as your driving usually above 40mph for a few mins IIRC and for whatever reason if it eventually does build up and can't do a normal regen you will be able to force it with the software, Neighbours might not be to happy with the revs and smoke but that would work to clear it back out.

Obviously nothing will ever make it perfect again but it will always bring it back down low. If you do ever do a force regen becareful not to park the over dry grass and the exhaust is going to get extra hot as it injects fuel directly into the dpf to burn much hotter.

If it becomes to blocked and develops a fault you may not be able to force it.
The computer decides when to do it and if it's disturbed it'll stop and wait for the next opportunity to do a régénération.
Then the other option is to remove it and depending on how it's made up you could get away with a hot jetwash to clear some of the crap. Failing that, a replacement could be needed.
As I say mate, every other time you service it. Put the diag on and force a generation. No harm in that.
If there was an issue with the pressure sensor or temp sensor you'd know about it with a fault tout de suite kermsy. ;)

Need to figure out why the cruise control has packed up. Not an obviously split / loose pipe this time, unlike the last 2. I'm guessing the brake pedal switches are the most likely culprit, but it will wait for a dry day.

Brought DIY supplies for the gardening back home, left him pumped up to try to look at the exhaust blow and the washer pumps tomorrow.

Got staggered by the 212% of last years quote for the insurance renewal. Starting shopping about.
And been sidetracked from the insurance hunt by getting an email from the **** letting agents that we are about to be given notice to quit and need to start looking for somewhere to go. Lovely timing, dropping that to crap on our bank holidays.

It's never a good time to get an eviction notice. S21 ?

Sorry to hear that. Living in rented accommodation is never secure when the politicians keep changing the rules. Good luck finding a new abode.

Decided to paint rear letters, took longer to mask up then etch primer and satin black. Transformer the rear.

Looks great, I’m a big fan of the black letters as they can set off the paint colour and overall appearance of the Range. I had a full set of original letters left over from putting chrome on my first one so painted them off the car and saved having to mask the panels.
Tricky :)

Wish I could have painted off the car, would be a lot easier, to be fair top and bottom mask Is a doddle, in between isn’t to bad, just in middle of letters like A, G, R etc, not time consuming whole masking tool Maby 10 mins just fiddly and cutting in with blade, hard enough to cut masking but soft enough to not cut into paint.

Didn’t know which colour to do mine as I think originally are a light grey/ dark sliver but was black plastic below which I could see anyway and had some satin black so thought satin black it is, saves buying more, but your right the black against silver shows both the letters and car paint off.

You do know you can buy a set in black for about £10
