What did you do with your Range Rover today

Pennines above Macclesfield still look like winter mountains not just hills. Not been up there but could see them yesterday battling hoe on the little bike against the wind and today coming back from lunch at the caff.

Wonder if there will be any snow left to get to tomorrow?
Possibly depending on sun and where you are, certainly Oldham and Rochdale are relatively clear now, most roads round Oldham that were closed have been cleared and reopened. Had good day of sun, so much so that the snow man me and my 3 year old made has nearly melted, much to his disappointment.
Mate of mine went out earlier in his Ford ranger and messaged me saying he was back home after half a hour after rear end stepped out nearly took another car out.

The sun shone all day. So I washed her. :)
Was planning on washing mine last night, in preparation for todays mot, hate presenting a dirty car, but then snow and wind started I thought, nah.. he can mot a dirty car.. work up this morning to find 4 inches of snow all over which has to be fair pulled a lot of muck off, needs washing this weekend though, mainly to reduce salt on it.

Clean car part of MOT now or there are plans for it to be

Really? Every car round here will fail them because there's always mud etc on the road. Wash your car and it looks the same a day later

Very true!, don’t know if it’s a actual requirement but I have heard a tester can refuse to test if the car is either obviously unroadworthy or to caked in muck to see what he’s testing. Definitely applies in commercial setting with HGVs etc.
I personally never like sending in a dirty car for test, there also more likely to pass and just let you know if it has any bits need doing instead of instant fail,
Tester once said to me if a car comes in clean, looked after with say new brakes and it’s obvious owner tries to look after it but say track rod end is shot, tester would still pass but say “iv passed it but does need off side track rod end” and owner would do it, he then said if something comes in filthy, not cared for and generally a reck then he would give as many advisory’s as needed or fail knowing owner wouldn’t spend on car even if it passed and was told it needed few bits.

Car has always needed to be in a testable condition, ie not so caked in mud you can't see anything

How difficult is it too change the main belt on a 4.4 tdv8? The new last month belt is totally goosed  don't know yet if it's a duff belt or something badly wrong somewhere

If its only a month old sounds like another issue, was it changed when the AC work was done (cant remember now).

Looks like the fan may need to come off too:eek:, but dont always trust this until you have a good look. Its a bit like "the body got to come off too do that mate".

Been my experience that as. Also several police officers over the years have said the same, clean car is looked after, filthy car less likely to be

It needed a new tensioner and 2 other pulleys replacing, the ac pump wasn't touched to my knowledge

The only time mine get washed is for the MOT. Living where I do with lanes covered in mud, washing is often pointless. There is an old saying, bullshyte baffles brains, a clean car will always make a favorable impression on the tester.

Years ago a neighbour of Dads used to do the Sunday Morning Rain Ceremony of washing, polishing and vacuuming his car, he was also very proud of the fact that he NEVER changed his oil ...:(
