I've got to agree but I bit the bullet and have saved hours of work not having to change them every couple of weeks or so it seemed.My soul cries at the thought of 15 quid, but I probably spent more than that on braided **** that seems to last about a year.

intercooler duct/fibreglass shield off from top, or can get at it from bottom with wheel and arch liner off. Id go from top you can leave heat shield off for bit keep an eye on it.Having cleaned the oil off (again) I am now wondering if the oil is coming down from the turbo area. Damned if I can see where it is coming from though!

I've not the time nor space to sort the engine myself and I'm desperate for a tow car now, not in another couple of months.
I could spend the best part of a grand and getting it running again but there's no guarantee that will be permanent fix. I could spend substantially more to make the engine more permanent (tophat) but i don't think the car is worth spending a big chunk on. It was never bought as an example 'mint' motor either so the looks aren't great, seats seen better days etc and there's still loads to do to get it up to scratch.
I'll lose money but think i just need to draw that line and stop the financial haemorrhage

Similar predicament, spend a shed load on a car that will never be worth much and always cost a lot to keep on the road, or spend a shed load on another set of wheelsEither I have to do quite bit this summer mainly steering, transmission & tyres or consider retiring her possibly a replacement which may cost about the same
