Yes they are known to stick - atleast clean it up and test in a pan of hot water on a wire
Original LR/BMW have a valve that sits at 12oclock position when fitted, if you get a cheap one (I did) they won’t have it - just drill a little hole it’s there to stop air getting trapped when bleeding is all. There’s a pic on one of my threads
When new they can be jammed - give it a few squeezes get it moving and test before installing
