Does look dark but it will take a few flushes to get it all out.
 
I think its the wee magnet on the bottom cover which tells you the most.
If its 'furry' then that's a worry.:eek: ,if its just a bit grey then there's not too much ground up metal being made!;)
On the final fill up I would put some Lucas Transmission Fix in too. good stuff. I swear it made mine change more smoothly.

Does it smell at all ?

Once had one that smelt like burnt plastic, a bit darker than that tho ...
 
Had the passenger side interior door handle fall off. Wife tried to get out and as she pulled the handle the hinge snapped clean off. So now I have the joys of trying to source one on a bank holiday weekend. Yay.
 
Need to see this. One of mine is pretty crabby. Did you take it off or mask around it.?

After sanding it down to primer with 1000 - 2000 grit, some paint prep and 3 coats of colour and 4 coats of lacquer this is the result..
polished up ok..

I wetsanded inbetween all coats to give a Glass type smoothness o_O

Made sure it is not too tight as the plastic would restrict easily with those powerful little clips. If i wobbled the NRV it would fill up with bubbles so xtra precaution. Clear Pipe is always clammy with diesel but too expensive to replace. Will try fuse I thought it was just a relay
Hi, yes I will when I get home. Currently in France for a week. I don't have a clear pipe on mine, just get heavy duty fuel pipe. I'm sure that your fuel pipes shouldn't be sweating fuel.
However after reading the earlier post re no gravity feed that would explain why I got an airlock at just above the yellow light stage on the fuel gauge! Disconcerting at 70mph on the motorway - cough cough revs up and down... silence...... then glide into the hard shoulder :eek::cool:

Plenty of eBay suppliers can sell spray cans made up from paint codes/ colour name/ years.

Wetsand it down to the plastic.

1 Use plastic prep primer

2 High build primer

3 sand smooth

4 Colour 3 coats sanding inbetween, be careful to apply thin coats to avoid too much orange peel if you supply your code i can tell you what colour, unless you know it already of course

5 Lacquer 2-4 coats

6 After 24hrs wetsand the lacquer smooth

7 After then using a polish of your choice remove the sanding marks..

8 seal/wax

etc etc
 
Don't you need to flatten the colour again before you lacquer? Last time I sprayed metallic was 10 years ago but i remember it looking terrible and completely the wrong colour until the lacquer went on then it all looked perfect
