I haven't looked putting it off,I'm assuming oil cooler pipe join at oil cooler or power steering hose as it look's directly in that area :( another day maybe ....

well, finally back in UK!!!!

put new battery on, spoke to Mozz, (top class guy!!!!!), got it working on first turn of key, went out, no probs. feels so good to be back in the beast.

weekend of changing discs all round, track rod and drag link, and if possible, radus arm bushes too. busy, busy, busy!!!!!!

I tested out the new EAS cable from Mr Tek, works a charm. Just got to book some time off work now (have 3 weeks of holidays to use before end of December) so I can put in some new airbags. I could probably do it in a day, but I've gone into a "quick job" before and have it go one for days. So better to be safe than sorry.

I also installed the cubbybox lid I got from the same Mr Tek. At long last I have somewhere to place my tasty beverages. :D

No sure on the cream leather though, might have to change the cover over to black leather.

Quite a productive day today. New front prop UJ's which has stopped the howl under load, still whines on the over run but the diff pinion does not feel nice at all so new front diff needed. Thorough top to bottom service including gearbox filter, checked the aircon out and was suprised to see it still had quite a bit of gas in it, so regassed that and it's all working happy and nice. Fiddled with under seat connectors to try and put the airbag light out, but it hasn't. :( (Diagnostics required so will sort that at a later date), worked out the exhaust titter is a split in the manifold so looks like Mr Tig is going to have to come out. Oh and ordered a new Key for it so I SHOULD be able to start it without putting the EKA in every time. And got the oxy acetylene out and tried to free off the adjuster for the drag link so I can straighten the steering box, but it still doesn't want to shift. So when I change the diff It will be having new drag link, track rod and Bilstein steering damper.

Looking at it, I think I can just change the lid part but retain the mech that provides the cupholder part. But it has got cold and wet, so that is a job for another day.

Thursday is MOT time for the LSE so the 2 things that I know are failures were taken care of.

A new tyre on the back and front windscreen washer not working. Tyre a doddle and changing the windscreen washer pump a real PITA!! Had the usual problem of 20 year old rusty bolts snapping but experience has taught me to always have spares available when working on the Classic. Any how finally prized the washer bottle away to gain access to the pump to find out the pump supplied was the wrong one!!! Much swearing later and more in hope than expectation cleaned up the contacts on the existing pump and hey presto it started working:)

So fingers crossed for Thursday and another year of keeping the old girl on the road.

Today I played lords of the rings two towers on my display whilst cleaning the interior out because my better half thinks its ok to put her ****ty horse stuff on my cream leather!
