I'm grateful I don't run to the loo, then HAVE to jump in a hot bath....
When I used to commute between London and Shrewsbury I used to get around 500 or so miles without the reserve light coming on. Given I live in the country now I'd be happy just getting 400. First world problems I know. But I am at half a tank already and I only did 115 miles since last refill.I'd be really chuffed to get anywhere close to 300 miles per thankful matey!
Losing coolant somewhere no drips underneath or in the cabin!! Coolant isn't pressurising either! Don't think it's going into the oil, only thing i can think of, it's sitting on the valley gasket and evaporating or dripping off while driving

God I hope I fixed it. Not a fan of V8 running costs without V8 performance and sounds.
Ooooh the kiss of death saying things like thatReturning from an Interview, on the way home "that went well I thought, the car is even behaving" 10 secs later the drinkers side windscreen wiper came off the spindle...
I'm not spiritual at all but i'm gonna keep my comments to myself from now on!!

Coolant into P38 this morning. Had to replace 02-off coolant hoses recently after one developed a 4 inch split. Been running on water alone since I replaced them. Nice not to worry about imminent frosty nights now.

Think the photo is upside down, the indicator hole is towards the outside.God, now you're asking! I think that's passenger side? The smaller hole is for the indicator lens I *think*..?
Just checked its the o/s.Think the photo is upside down, the indicator hole is towards the outside.
Pics and a write up!Well, after a round about trip due to this virus thing finally got home late Saturday. Went to the beast today which has been parked up on axel stands since late January due to me working away. Checked the fluids and the oil had dropped a little but nothing to worry about. Connected the battery and the jump assist. Fingers crossed turned the key and..........after about 3 seconds of turning she only went and fired up without a cough or a snort and is running sweet as a nut as usual. This car has always surprised me at that. Left the bonnet and door open to fill the air tank while i got out my portable compressor to top up the tyres which didnt need much also due to the axel stands.
So time for the test will she go up?
Could see her lifting but not enough to get off the stands Oh Oh. Not worry got out the jack popped her up remove stands and down she came a long way???? did the same on the other side?? put the jack away climb in operate switch down to access height up to normal and up it came down to access all good up to normal all good up to wade up a bit more she goes back to normal and all's good. Guess just a bit sticky after being sat for so long. So a very happy ending as i am going to replace the rear bags on this in the next few weeks as they are past due and i was worried about this years start up. i did the fronts a couple of years ago so know they are ok. Drove around the parking area for a few laps checking the breaks and things and by the time had been for a blast to get everything nice and hot and all the oils flowing arrived home with the big happy grin.
Mine does 18mpg around town and can top 25 on a run so not too bad, and of course I get V8 sound and performanceLong drives on A-roads and motorways I get 600 miles on a tank with the manual. Around town that plummets by a third or more. Gawd knows what the v8 does around town.
Well phoned insurance company to say not renewing after new quote. Well what do you know came back we'll do it £76 cheaper added protected no claims, personal insurance, lowered own fault payment plus other things, very good it was. So now £274 fully comp. One happy bunny, but why can't they just do this on renewal instead of me phoning up and saying I've got a better quote. Must admit I have done this for years with a lot of insurance companies and do find for the first 2 to 3 years I get a reduction until I do change
