Have spent ages trying to jack up high enough and safe enough due to my drive NOT being flat and level...... ready to start removing rear subframe for a complete overhaul, full brake pipe replacement, replace secondary fuel pump...... then start on the front.........

Changed the steering damper today, having taken the old one off it didn't seem too bad so chucked it into the "Only slightly buggered box".
Next job was to try and get rid of any slack in the rear damper top bushes, after a lot of faffing about with measuring kit I opened out some big washers I had, step drills are wonderful for this type of work by the way, and managed to compress enough to gently hammer split pins in to finish the job.
Well I say finish, I did have to turn over the ends of the split pins, first one went OK, second one my grips slipped as I was grunting the short leg round and I gave the brake caliper a good backhander. Now feeling sorry for myself and still gently weeping claret over the mouse mat every time I flex my fist.:oops:
I did nothin to it, but me hand is starting to heal and most of the swelling is going down. Didn't stop me losing at darts last night though.:oops:

That’l be me f***** then

Been quite a few years since I had to touch mine and memory is a bit hazy but you slide a finger down the rod and feel for the slot in the clip. One of them sort of rotates around and pops out and the other may do the same or may rotate from one end and come away from the rod.

Well, yesterday while I waited for the new fuel pump to be delivered, still waiting, I checked the wiring for the pump.no feed. Turns out there was no ground at the pump relay RL12 I think it was. Sorted.then I lubed the bonnet release cables as one was sticking. Sorted. Then started putting back the interior, drivers side done except for the door card,I'll give that a bit of time just in case I have door lock issues again.bit more to do today.

That eounds like the opening lines to on of @holidaychicken 's sex manuals

Ordered the new headlining and fuse box. Also discovered that the rear left wheel arch is rusted through. The only one I didn't redo last year, because, you know, it looked good enough... Wondering if I can get away with a GFK patch or if it is a welding job... It's noon, so I will go buy some tools and will strip the old paint and rust away after lunch...
