The early iterations of the engine was developed by Jag, however Ford had a great deal of involvement in it's development in subsequent years.
'Tis a great engine, the Nikasil liners on the 3.2 and 4.0 engines was a bit of a let down but the latter engines had this issue solved.

The AJV6 is another.
Genuine Ford/cosworth unit but you'd be hard pressed to find a better lump, goes really well in my Cat.. ;) Reliable as hec to with solid internals.

I had a 1.8 Mondeo at one stage that had been to the moon and back by its mileage and the engine was mint. Pity about the rest of the car.

Drove to the builders merchants to pick up a bag of plaster to finish off the job that the plasterer left uncompleted a week ago.tradesmen,I've sh1t them.:mad:. Not in the best of moods as I found he's ruined three oak doors I replaced some time ago.:mad:Be glad when this is all over.

I do everything myself. The only way I can guarantee it is done right. Despite carrying mobile phones everywhere most are utterly unreliable and uncontactable. I know a few that break the mould but they're booked up 12 months in advance.

Spent some time taking stuff apart.

Tracing to check for any burnt wires.

I wish I could mate, those days are long gone, only got the work clothes out of retirementwhen I got a stupid quote from a right chancer, could have built another house at the bottom of the garden for what he wanted.needless to say he is still swiveling.;):D

Used Buttercup to go shopping for bits for my 90, should have known she would'nt like it.
Out of the shop, just about to get in and thought "that wheel nut looks a bit iffy", just about hanging on by 2 threads.:eek: wheel brace applied, 3 out of 5 loose.
If they were all loose then I could think I'd missed the wheel when putting it back on a couple of months ago, I guess I just did a bad job. Normally I always use my torque wrench to tighten wheel nuts. Going to keep a close eye on this.

Well spotted. That could have been nasty.
