Couldn't find my Tcut so may have better pics tomorrow. Trickle charge battery overnight, reads at 80% full after 4months. Also pulled door cards off passenger side doors to try fix handle/window not setting. Typically, once door was open and innards hanging out it set straight away  Think I found the problem, can you see what it is? o_O:D

That's gonna take some polishing out..!!
Nope, enlighten me with the window thing..

You can see the light through from other side...in the little holes from where the rub strip died

image.jpg

Where strip came off the plugs go right through and all the crap has been washing inside the door sh**ting up the mechanism

Sealed 6holes with silicon and cleaned up the rails/joints. Used that coppa-spray which worked well. Put door liner/card/wiring back better than it was. Few plastic plugs missing

Possibly but not under the seat or in the door :(
Or a frog in disguise....:p

No!! How dare you:p
Those shocks are only 8months old!! I'LL not be buying terrafirma shocks again:mad:
And the airbags are only two years old as well...
You must have bought those airbags second hand or the supplier had had them in stock for 20 years, maybe they were Chinese knock offs. I've seen 10 year old ones looking better than that.
I stick with OEM shocks, not expensive, do a good job and last well.

All bought new! Shocks as well...
That the second set of replacement shocks from terrafirma...the air bags were plastic stamped 08... So the rubber was already old before I'd bought and fitted them.... When you think about tyre dates and rotting rubber....when I snipped into the bags they are three rubber layers thick .

Arnott Gen II's last a lot longer, 9 years old on my daily drive I think and still look like new. I got them on a promotional deal so they were not a lot more expensive than Dunlops at the time, very expensive now though so the project car is on Dunlops.

If Arnott would just get close to the Dunlop price we'd all have them. But 3 times the price? No chance.

I agree with grrrrrrr-rrrr there, I'd like some arno's. Dunlop's are on the cards. All four to go.
As for the shocks, I don't know where I stand after they've already been replaced under warranty. This time the stanction seal has gone... I've emailed them and I am awaiting a response.....

Oh they go off-roading alright, with coils atleast. I'm lifted though perhaps they don't like going down too far? With a load weight in back they hold firm too, coils provide more assistance to the shock the more they are squeezed down though, I've only got Terrafirma on the back and they are more heavy duty than the front ones, done same but have faired better over many years. Second hand when I had them

That's a very good point about coils as apposed to airbags... Maybe they aren't suited to the rubber at all.. 200€ wasted... Some originals are in order when the pennies are in stock!!:(:)

Your correct about the quality of most parts/things... Popular named or not. In years to come cars that expire will be left to biodegrade in a holding place or in the street ... Maybe sooner because most of them are shīte now!!!:(
