My lpg converted developed a misfire a couple of weeks ago.Started investigation by removing covers and discovered some oil lying in the plug wells so cleaned that out and replaced the valve cover gasket on the near side as it was the worst and as I have lpg gubbings above the offside which would make it harder to do that side,as if the nearside was easy lol,I left replacing it.Ran it,fault still occured, put on fault reader which highlighted a missfire in c1 and c2 neither of which had an oil issue.I replaced all the plugs with new ngk rated ones and gave it a run.No misfire and when I got back I dipped the oil and the stick showed hehaw.....ive put 4 ltr in and its just wet the bottom of the stick. Why has me warning light not came on ????
I think most of the warning lights are based on pressure and the pressure switch is near the oil pump. So as long as there is some oil left in the sump and that is being dragged up and past the pump then it thinks there is oil. The light probably goes out a mite quicker on startup now?
This is the same vehicle that'll tell you if your washer bottle is low but not coolant. Are you really surprised that things are done slightly ass backwards?Seems strange for an engine requiring a large capacity of oil.Well I ran it to work this morning and within a mile of the house it started to misfire again so a couple of new coil packs are on order.
Today, I am mostly taking a trip to see family in Aberdeen, then to Banff.
Wish me luck
New belts fitted and upgraded alternator output to 14.5V while the belts were off.
Now, someone remind me of the best way to check the hardy-spicers. 1 wheel up? 2? All 4? Thought I felt a wobble from under the car on testing.
Trying to work out why power steering goes from normal too hard and then back too normal ? fluid level OK ....belt ok .... pump maybe ?
One wheel up to unload the prop. Then put one hand on the joint and wiggle the prop with the other. You will feel play long before you can see it. If you lift a rear wheel to check the rear prop chock the fronts or the other rear.
No haven,t touched it ! or the pumpHave you been playing with steering box?
