Maybe, shame but it would probably have been very expensive if they had, and I doubt I'd have the special tools that might require.
It genuinely feels like almost the entire engine is currently in the boot and I can't even see most of the timing chain yet! I'm used to my VW diesel in my Volvo where three clips and about half a dozen bolts need removing to get to the timing belt, with all of the ancillaries still in place. Complete timing belt change including setting the pump timing takes me about two, maybe three hours if I dawdle, where as I'm four hours in today and haven't actually got the timing cover off yet but the main difference is probably practice if I'm honest.

Failed to get into the boot. Went to load my weekly shop and nothing. The seal around the button appears to have disintegrated into nothing so I am assuming water/road filth has seeped in, corroded things away and with the freezing snaps recently, killed the switch (based on the fact the drivers door lock still functions as it should when using the key). Got to strip down the boot now and I really cba.
Is the button just a leccy switch then? If that's the case, is it possible to fix it with a new one, but also piggy back a couple of jump wires that can be wired to a switch on the bit of shelf behind the back seat (next to the rear quarter glass)??
Just a thought....

Check the motor fitting,mine showed a problem and it was the small brass terminals on the motor were not contacting properly
This "was" George's grille, minging! 49 shades of grey, not pretty.
So I had the bit's chemically dipped with a pattern of Icelandic Blue flames on a black background. I have to say though, the photo's don't do it justice. It looks far better in the flesh as it were...
The headlamp grille's were still "curing" at this stage. They are dry now so I'm off to refit them soon.... I do like it. It's different.

Why? Dipped colour code to body ,or back to original, I'd get. However, a RR with a DPMesque grille, , takes me back to, why? Just makes me think of those wannabe guys who wear DPM items wandering around town.
What's a dpm when it's at home?

No one forcing you to like it I have no idea what the original grey shade actually was, so I went left field and did something a bit different.
I'm off to fit the headlamp grilles, so will take a photo....then I have to take junior to some trampoline place, so will post pic after 6 if I can.

Iceland blue, obviously. Possibly in icelandic-blue disruptive pattern material to merge with the car.

I think you're entering the realms of fantasy there, Jones
It is just 2 white wires (thanks LR for making every wire on the tailgate white, it isn't confusing at all. You ****s) to a basic switch. I had considered that, at least then I'd always have a backup. Could even wire it to the dash so I could just pop the boot from the drivers seat, as every time I drop someone off and they need access to the boot I have to get out because they're too dumb to operate a switch.
After I got into the tailgate, I noticed that the connector was loose, I took out the switch anyway and blasted it with some air. A fair chunk of dirty/rusty water came out, so I thinks it'll go again soon. But at least I have access for now and hopefully the new switch arrives soon.
Was hoping to put in an order with the local dealer as they stock a lot of smaller P38 parts, but I didn't know they've torn down the building to build a new dealership. So had to eBay special it.

Replaced the tail gate struts curtisy of Adam, cheers Adam its working like new
