Yes, rev counter, speedo is removed, everything else is still in place.
honestly i dont know. never needed to unplug the dash binnacle to touch the blend motors.
however, i think it *should be ok, just as unplugging an airbag (under the seat) while driving doesnt set it off. you will get an error in the system, but that should self clear, but you have nano anyways
should.. probably.. in my opinion etc.. but i dont know for sure

I've chickened out. I need to pick the missis up in a couple of hours from work, don't need any disasters!
110 is off the road waiting on bits.
I'll wedge the box lever to 'cold' and roughly fit the clocks back so I can still use it. Do you know which way the lever needs to move for cold? To the front of the car or towards the back of the car?

i can't remember. when mine was broke i put a bit of wire on the tang where the manual cable would have fitted and then wedged it in a gap in the kick panel to stop it moving.
if you're stuck for time, just turn the blower off completely and set the source to recycled interior air? open the window/sunroof etc

Took the P38 out for a camp before a cycling event around Exmoor at the weekend. Some very steep hills in very hot weather and it was absolutely spot on.

Currently hovering over the buy button for new front and rear airbags for the P38. AUTODOC have got Arnott ones in stock but no mention on the package qty. Anyone got any info on qty or potentially a better UK supplier at a decent price?

Hang on - will check my spare heater box in the garage.

Levers fully towards driver, air goes through the heater matrix. Fully towards engine cooled air bypasses matrix.

I thought I might struggle to get at the box lever with the clocks plugged in but it's possible I've discovered. Started her up, ac on and moved the lever one way then the other until I got cold air. Its towards the engine for cold.
The missis works on a very hot ward, 38 degrees last Saturday, she appreciates the ac when she finishes. Moving the temp up/down on the hvac results in no movement of the drive shaft on that motor.
Job for tomorrow.
Try and find a 9v battery next.

I avoid Autodoc if possible. Arnott Gen 2 are good if you plan on keeping the car long term. They have been on my RHD P38 for around 14 years and still look like new. I got them from P38 Spares, they were on special offer at the time and not much more than Dunlops. They are expensive now so I fitted Dunlops on my LHD P38 as I don't plan keeping it long term.

I’d ideally avoid them as well. I don’t plan on getting rid of the P38 until the government makes it illegal to drive them - I’ve invested far too much money and blood to pass it on.

I’ll take a look at the Dunlops though. Hopefully they’ll last a good few years.

If they were going to move with the buttons, they would have already moved when you plugged them in to calibrate

Nano says the pot is duff. I've tried forcing it with the nano but getting no % movements. I remember unplugging the hvac last year, I think, which fixed something that wouldn't work. iirc, all motors were working as they should but the book wouldn't go out. I really ought to be keeping a diary of what I fiddle with as I always think I'll remember but I don't..

I might have a bag of them somewhere.

I wouldn't touch Arnott 2. Had manufacturing issues recently. Arnott 3 are good but not worth the expense. Dunlops are best bet.
