well i must have the heaviest out there then. my magnetic light stuck to mine LOL

just been outside and checked again. sticks all over the bonnet :)

not to the doors or wings.

I guess it could be zincrometal, zinc plated steel. They could have knocked 50 kilo's off the weight if they used alloy:)

but if they did, they would of had to think of something to put on the front to stop the stone chips. mind you, some sports cars have them, not sure about the results of stone chips v's blistering on them.

Stone chipping problem is no different for alloy IMO. Quite a few up market cars have alloy panels all round, some even have plastic. My Transit has a plastic bonnet and the Xtrail had plastic front wings and headlight lenses, not sure about the bonnet.

my under the right rear door is a litter rusty. can't image i use a magnet , the whole body stick on it , the 4 door , the bonnet , the roof and the tailgate ;;

Changed the spark plugs, topped up the water as it was slightly low, replaced the steering damper, changed the rear diff oil and found a hole in one of the row pipes :( although this gives me an excuse for performance headers :D

Had a bit more of a prod and a poke around my project LSE - couldn't believe the state of the rear cross member, at least it will be easy to remove! one rear wheel arch will need moderate patching, the boot floor is repairable (not as bad as my '91 Vogue SE was). Have a large pile of rust on the barn floor now!

Ok I've started to replace my heater matrix and I think I've worked out why it isn't working.

There are no bloody pipes connecting the heater box to the water system   this is going to be a bitch to fix me thinks :/

Looks like the previous owner didn't fancy doing the heater matrix o-rings!

loaded the entire back with logs to the roof.
say 500kg worth. then drove it out of the field.

:)

man in defender was really impressed.

so was I

Yesterday I loaded the boot up with 10x 600x600 and 10x 450x450 Concrete slabs....

Obviously I lined the boot with a cover first - God forbid I get the boot dirty
The carpet is black, just give it a once over with a vacuum. I do the same sort of thing with a cream carpet and just a quick vacuum when I can be bothered and pulls the muck right out. Good fun hauling around bags of horse turd, took ages to clean it all up. That straw gets everywhere.

Should see a tractor dealer down the road from here though, they use L322s as recovery vehicles and they take some abuse. Farmers use their L322s as farmers cars, they are always caked in mud, constantly pulling all sorts of farmer type loads around the place. Tell you something for free, I wouldn't buy a second hand one from up here.

Charles Spencer King would be proud though.
