Is that light bar not illegal for road use in the UK?
Yes, although it's not on the road ;)
The regulations for their legal fitting are that there must be a separate switch to enable / disable them. There was a kit available for L319 which carried out this function - I've adapted one to fit the L405 and coded the CJB to recognise it, so it is now compliant and will pass an MoT / VOSA roadside check.

I'm going to put 2 LED spotlights on the back of the series 2 It's totally illegal to have reversing lights as spots, BUT if you say that are working lights, and you don't use them for reversing, then you can have them!

Swat i did with the defender. One is a powerful reverse light the other has a red filter sheet and is the fog. MOT tester has never questioned them.

Finally got time today to re-install the dash on Green P38. Glovebox needs adjustment, but heater all working & all flaps moving as they should. Next job is MOT, and then flush the water & refill the cooling system with correct stuff.

Went for a bit of a drive today. Went up Cheddar Gorge and then found a byway to adventure along.

Lovely views.. forgot it was half term here though, lots of kids darting out into the roads 🤦‍♂️

Jeez, passenger side footwell soaked again. Can’t find any issues with the sunroof, drains or roof gutters  I bet it’s the bloody pollen filter body again.
We just did this with my son's 38' .
Constant water ingress...
The metal plate over the pollen filter where the stupid plastic plug let's wter in.. we welded the hole shut and there is no more water getting in 😎👍

I sealed up the holes because I had a leak on the drivers footwell. Anyway having fixed the driver’s side I have phoobared the passenger side

On Saturday I used mine to drive from Maidstone to Newark where we collected an RRS for my brother (which is of course broken) but that's all good as the seller disclosed it all before we went. Spent Saturday night with a Topix subscription and PDF'd everything for the wife's Discovery 4 in preparation for spending today replacing the split inlet manifold on her car but didn't factor in the need to build an injector removal slide hammer and stupidly forgot that I would of course need new seals and clamps so I'll be trying to get to LR tomorrow for those along with the stupid brittle vacuum pipe that I snapped too.

They're queuing up outside the garage now and I have a day job which really hampers playtime!

Oh and at 7pm Friday (before my planned 6am leave) the bloody disc brake shield rotted out on my NSF wheel causing the most horrendous clattering and scraping sound so I had to effect a quick repair on that in the dark. I mentioned it to the good lady wife as she had been driving it for a couple of days and she claimed to have no knowledge of it or the whereabouts of half a tank of diesel citing the fact that her car was broken and I should be more interested in that than "a bit of diesel or some rattly old Range Rover". Obviously I apologised immediately for my faux pas.

I put an LED spotlight sort of behind the towbar and under the car. You cannot see it until I put it in reverse but because the body of the car shades it the light spills out at a very low level and just illuminates everything behind until its arse is in the air. I do have a switch for it hidden by the rear light cluster where I took the wiring for the trigger wire on the relay but I have never used it as the MoT testers have never failed it. It is very useful indeed in the depths of winter if you're reversing in the countryside somewhere.

decided on my next oil change i'll be using A5/B5 5W30 and not C1 oil
its much cheaper!!
I use Mannol in both my P38 and MX5 , have done for a couple of years now and been very happy with it.
