Took the missus to the Post Office but they looked at me funny when I enquired about return to sender:eek: on the drive back I noticed an exhaust rattle, put the suspension on high, put some axle stands under and found a couple of the exhaust rubber mountings had split so found some in"stores", the garage and replaced them.:D checked and greased the propshafts UJ's and slide joints.Saw I have an oil leak, job for another day as the heavy rain came in:rolleyes: I have a filter and oil to change so soon possibly.I'm not wasting another half day making room to get the car into the garage.

Had a look under the bonnet and it appears to be the top O ring on the filter cap so hopefully the oil and filter change will sort it.

Took the switch pack out to fix the passenger side front window switch, the window would go down but not up, thank goodness for lazy locking. Took the switch apart, cleaned the contact pads and the points on the blister, back together all working now. got a switch to do on the other P38 when I have time.

I ain’t got no rust I’ve been replacing and removing rust for 2 bloody years I’m not sure I fink it is wax oil it’s been in the shed a year and a half I will check cheers

I have just watched this, Aylesbury to Scotland and back on one tank  I don't think I will try that in the P38 somehow!!

We managed 341 miles with Otto's gauge down on 1/8 tank, at which point he only took 78 litres (I'd splashed 10 litres in when we took him for the brake work). I'd been expecting him to take more like 90 litres then. Might manage the round trip on 2 tankfuls with care!

I filled up today, around 48 litres (£93!) and it worked out that I could possibly get 354 miles from brim to empty. That means I could possibly do it on two tanks but I really don't feel up to the challenge!
