The sensor sits in a springy bush. Clean all around and then try to get under the lip of the bush and just keep wriggling under the lip all the way around and eventually it should start to wiggle free. Look in RAVE for the type of grease and make sure it is packed when putting it back.

The sensor came with a springy bush but i also ordered a solid metal black one as that's what appears to be in use currently

Probably packed with grease, dirt and brake friction material.

Doesn't the sensor and the springy retainer fit inside the solid metal bush?

Not actually looked on RAVE yet, figured I'd find out when i took it apart!
Not touching it today, needs to be roadworthy tomorrow

Good move, when I replaced my sensors I only needed the springy retainer.

Losing around 0.5v between the battery and the ciggy plug

That's the reason I'm not doing the lambda on the Alfa. Twenty quid part but it's a pig to get at.

Cannot remember, to be honest. I just remember the sensor sitting in the spingy bush. Maybe it changed between years?

Just resoldered the new connector I put on the new F/N/S height sensor and I've still got a twitchy voltage showing on my Foxwell.....BASTID.

Looks like I'll have to trace the wire back to the ECU and look for damage. Seems the ECU is up behind the dash. PITA

Cleaning rocker shaft parts.

Wire brush, elbow grease and a couple of squirts of the Autoglym low odour engine cleaner got this result. Rockers are more fiddly but just as good a result. Minimal wear on shaft and rocker bearings so they will be good to re-use.

Second shaft looks a lot more cooked - planning to do a cleaner soak before disassembly to hopefully reduce work later. Also contemplating an ultrasonic cleaner to save effort.

Half way there on the first rocker shaft set now. Fingers ache, off for a meal. Back to work tomorrow, see how much cleaning engine bits appeals after a day at the desk again....

Today I mainly removed the tank cradle and welded on some newness and gave it a coat of paint.
