I usually see 11mpg from my 4.0l around the island. Better than the 9 I used to get out of the 5l V10 .... mind you the P38 puts out 189 bhp and the RS was 721 and 1027nm. Thankfully it’s gone.80L to do 200 miles is around 11mpg!!
or a leakIf a thor is putting out 11mpg you have an issue..
More than likely either Lambda or MAF issues.
Yep thats about right for a very short journeyor a leak
if i drive the 1/2 mile to the supermarket i get 8mpg shown on the dash
Give the selector a few good few quick goes up and down the gate..started up, gearbox fault. I'd left it overnight in neutral.. i know, i know. moved to R and got a grindy/whiny noise back to neutral quick!! D, no problem, back to R and it really thumped into gear
checked for faults and saw something about the selection switch value :/
yep did that.. fingers crossed!!Give the selector a few good few quick goes up and down the gate..
Well it seems to be working normally!yep did that.. fingers crossed!!
Wondering if something could be broken in the expansion tank as i couldn't get a spurt of coolant by squeezing the top hoseWill it seems to be working normally!
Because I'm paranoid, no other reason, took the expansion cap off and it wasn't spitting the usually jet from the self bleed hole not even at 2000rpm.
Pipe is clear and I blew the other way into the radiator, that's clear too.
Could my new Airtex water pump be bad? Not overheating

Ooerr!! My usual umm.. technique never fails to produce the desired outcomeHow [cough] vigorous were you?
The pipe is clear and if i blow down it, air comes out of the hole in the neck of the expansion tank so that's ok. Coolant comes out of the radiator bleed pipe. But maybe not fast enough, maybe i need to take the radiator off again and check for blockagesOoerr!! My usual umm.. technique never fails to produce the desired outcome
£4000 for a rough examplpe of a Vogue 50 with an interesting MOT history..

OUCH!!!!!80L to do 200 miles is around 11mpg!!
I get waves from other P38's too, must be something about them,,Popped to Chippenham to get the long haired colonel from work. Walking back to my P38 and she spots another one in the car park, I not so stealthily checked it out when I realised he was in it checking mine out. Probably thinking "that thing is a piece of ****".
Then driving along the Calne bypass and I see ANOTHER P38, I have him the finger wave and got a full force wave back. Clearly the P38 t-shirt brings me good tidings.
It was a good day. 13/10 would recommend.
A few years ago, my plate was for sale, not one I owned but, my first and last initials and 1, had I had lottery win type moneyAre you kidding £500 for a reg that doesn’t even look right
