What colour

Hi ppl
Am after your opinion here
I have a 90 station wagon in Epsom green but am replacements rear door as the old one has rotted away . Side door are ok at the moment but will also need replacing at a later date plus the body is starting to blow dust patches through the paintwork in the usually places
Been quieted .250 quid a pannel to spray which is way took much . so what do you think would be best colour to paint the back door for now ,
Was going to get some synthetic paint and roller it . But wanted to do it in a colour that doesn't stand out too much .. with a view that later on I shall be roller painting he whole vehicle ,
Is there a flat green that would blend in with the existing for now ,

What colour are you planning on roller painting the whole vehicle in the future?

I personally think black is a good colour that is not offensive when used on panels if the base vehicle is epsom green.

Undecided on exactly what colour .. most likely green again but a satin finish so as not to highlight any imperfections ,, but for now want something that will blend in to the existing for now ,,
The back door is predominately covered by the spare wheel so not a lot of it is seen

+1 for paint the door black.
Choose carefully when you decide to repaint the whole thing. Mine was in a military type green as seen in my Avatar. I got mine resprayed in Aintree Green which looks great, but it looks so great I don't want to use the Defender for off roading or going greenlaning where the bushes will scratch or mark the paintwork. I was much happier before when I didn't give a monkeys whether it got scratched or marked. I even find myself polishing the dam thing now.

i am polishing this one at the moment which just feels wrong, my old 2a i had years ago i just painted in a green
of the shelf enamel paint and never washed it , but it looked tidy enough.

this one as it is shiny i find myself having to clean it, but it is starting to show its age ( 1995).
i was thinking on a final colour in the region of a eggshell finish green of some sort,, clean but not shiny

just not sure on what green was hoping there may be a shade similar to Epsom green just without the metalic
but no idea if there is such a thing

£250 a panel

my place charges £150 and I charge £100 In my own time, its a shame you are so far away. +1 for doing the back door black, it should look good against the green. As for an 'eggshell' finish, you could use a satin lacquer over Epsom green, which would give you the metallic base with a semi-matt finish or find a similar green But a solid colour, and get a paint supplier to mix it as a satin or Matt colour

i have just found the Paint Man, supplier that does landrover paints in synthetic enamel,, and they actually do an epsom
green all be it in a 400 ml can so im gona give that a go for now and see how that goes, gota be worth a go for 15 quid ..

fingers crossed ,, they seem to have quite a following for doing good paint
i have spoken to them and the guy recons one can will easily do a door so we shall see..
