I'm trying to find out what type of Chassis I have.

I want to order a set of brake pads but have found a note on the product saying "From Chassis No.: 1A000001".
How can I tell if my car falls into that category?

I found this on the inner LH door sill:

Does this help?

look on the bulkhead to the right of the brake master cylinder or on tour V5.

V5 only shows this:

(some bits removed to avoid being cloned!)

that would be if nothing has been changed or replaced, Is your 100% original or has different axles ever been changed
A Freelander doesn't have axles.
Vin number to quote for parts is staring at you,
1A******+

I think they are referring to the part on the VIN from the year, i.e.
1A******

1A means built in Solihull in 2001.

At least that's what I'd go by. I'm sure someone will know better.

[Edit]
Dammit I type too slow!

From 2001MY they started using 1A, 2A, 3A, etc to distinguish different model years.
Model Year has nothing to do with when it was built, or registerd with DVLA.

Its possible for, say, a 2002MY to have been built in late 2001.
Using the VIN number for ordering parts is the best.
At the dealers I worked at, the introduction of the new Model Year was more important to buyers than the new August 1st registration.
That changed when the Freelander came out and brought a new class of customer into the showroom...
Lower:D

6A=2006 Model Year even though built late 2005.
The 1 is the code for Jatco 5 speed auto right hand drive.

Chassis Number Information
Note- in the link, what is refered to as "year of build" is incorrect, it should be Model Year.
The two can be different as proved with your car.

but not by much a 3a isnt going to have been built in 2001,a 3a car is going to be 10 years old now and most parts dont change yearly and generally you dont by parts based on year of manufacture or registration but to and from certain vin numbers

That is why LR use the MY system, 2A000001> runs untill 2003 MY comes, then vin restarts at 3A000001.
