Hi all, I have a 2002 (02) SE 4.4 V8 registered in May of that year. The problem is that that there is no CD changer or shelf in the glove box. Whilst my car was in the local indy garage they took a look and as far as they could see there were no cables. They also phoned LR and they said its possible that it didn't come with a changer . I believed this was stock even for the SE model. I don't mind buying a changer as they're available on ebay but i need to know where i can get a connecting cable and which one as I know they either came with a single 8 pin connector or 3 and 6 pin connectors . Anybody help me . Thanks

Hi DRanged,

I have a 52 plate HSE. It came with the 6CD changer in the glove box, with the 3+6 pin plug configuration, which goes directily to the radio/MID unit in the dashboard.

There are two large square holes at the back of my glove box. If you have those too, you might find the loom if you have a guddle.

Good luck!

Good try rewmer....

Guddle...to catch (fish) by groping with the hands, as under rocks or along a riverbank.

Was one of Orr Wullie's favourite passtimes.

KarelP38 , had a look in the boot, all I can see are cables/connectors for the telephone. I have had an LPG conversion so air suspension compressor is in that cubby hole now too.

garioch43 , I've looked in the glove box and found 2 plastic covers in the back at the top , took them out but can't see any cables. I've a week off next week so it looks like I'll be taking a "guddle".

Thanks, I'll let you know what I find.

Even though I'm a Scot I preferred Rewmer's definjition.
So a guddle is a main dealer's training manual.

Getting back on topic........

I changed my sysyem out for an aftermarket touchscreen system.

If you go to STEP 3 in the attached thread, you will see an image of the connector which goes into the back of the radio head unit.

It's the 12 way multi plug on the bottom right or left (can't remember which) that connects to the CD Changer.

If you get to the stage of removing the top of the dashboard, you might find this information useful.

Cheers!

Noodling is specific to catching Catfish with ones hands.

This chap had no joy in finding the the wiring loom for his CD changer....
