I have a Discovery TD5 Manual. Recently i bought a new cluster since the old one had several leds pulled out to hide problems :)confused::mad:) ... Now I have the M and S lights flashing but I think those are specific for Auto boxes? can someone confirm (maybe I bought a cluster which was previously on an automatic?

thanks
Mark

Yes, they are specific to auto boxes, but they can be turned off using a Nanocom or similar code reader.
You probably did buy an ex-auto cluster, but don't worry, there's no physical difference, it's just a case of how they're set up. Just find somebody who can help, or maybe put your hand in your pocket for the main dealer to turn them off.

M is manual mode, this allows you to permanently select a gear (say second) and the autobox will hold the box in that gear until you change your selection or unselect "M", it will not change down or up from this gear at all. 1-3 are as labelled, and D is for fourth - this is only available in low range.

S refers to sport mode (i think) basically it makes the gear changes later in the rev range which does very very little except use more fuel and make a bit more noise (that i have noticed anyway)

Spoil-sport! And anyway, the OP has a manual gearbox!
