I'm 23 have owned my landrover for 5 months this time (95 defender 90 300tdi)
Befor I owned a 94 defender 90 300tdi it's modified for off roading

The fact it's modified it not a problem

The problem is when I was 22 I got quotes high quotes but the quoted,

I have rung every insurer in the back of the landrover owners magazine and the only ones who will quote is flux and I'm already with them and they have put my premiums up,

We use it for walking are dog and pay and play days, is not even done 1000 miles since may,

Flux want £1017 it was £800 and something, I don't use it every day I own a van that I use, and carnt justify that money.

hmm. Insurance companies seem to have a bizarre way of doing things. try Sureterm on a limited mileage, although you've prolly done that already.

Tried them. Sorry you have to be 25 to drive a 300 tdi defender or disco,

Had a chat/ rant at a guy from flux who has managed to get it from £1017 to £683

That's for me at 23 and my partner at 26 and that also include drivin other cars third party.

I'm with flux as well and these are the highlights of a conversation with them the other day

Me: hi I am changing the 2.25 petrol engine in my series three to a 2.0 diesel engine

Flux: does it have more power and is it a larger engine?

Me: no it has about the same power and is a smaller engine

Flux: ok let me check with the underwriters

A short while later

Flux: unfortunately the increase in performance means we cannot cover you of you change the engine!

Me: but it is a smaller engine with the same power!

Flux: you are modifying your car to get more power so we cannot cover you

I hate insurance companies
3000£ to insurance petrol series 3
2500 to insure BMW 1.8 petrol x reg
3500 to insure 200tdi disco
How the hell does that work all in the same year k ow I'm without insurance

I have just spent all morning trying to insure my modified series 2a land rover. I had had it insured with Adrian Flux and sent them all the paper work for the renewal. I have just got back from holidays to find a thank you for the paper work email and then a few days afterwards an email from them saying I need to renew my insurance ? I then got an agressive email from them this morning saying that I need to send them the modified car paperwork. When I called them up and informed them they already had it they got very agressive and virtually called me a liar . Looking at the paperwork it looks as if they tried to setup 2 policies with different numbers on their systems. I have canceled the policy with them and gone elseware. Be careful insurance companies only want your money and could not care less about you
