wet carpet

Hi all i am new to this so bear with me
i have just bought my freelander 1 4 wks ago
and just found out tha my boot carpet below
the n/side rear light is soaking wet ,so i am
hoping someone might have had this trouble
and knows where it might be coming in

or the seal behind the trim across the back window, or the mountings for the roof rails if they are fitted.

what year is it? Most likely the glass seal to the rear door

check the grommets are still there. both sides. it enters the boot space behind the rear light trim.

Hi all read everyones comments on my problem
i folded back the carpet and let loose with the
hose pipe,no sign of water anywhere i have put a humidifier
in to dry it and keep a eye on it,i would like to thank all
for their input

Hi no roof lining is not damp or wet
i have moved the door catch over
a touch so the rear door shuts a
bit tighter see what that does

Is the cubby box in the floor wet aswell?

Hi all i think i found where the water
is coming in there is a vent in the wing
it must be behind the rear wrap round
bumper its coming in by that filling up
a llittle well where the inner wheel
arch meets the floor filling up and
spilling over onto the boot carpet
luckly enough it is still under warrantee

I have the same problem and just tracked it down to the bottom corner on the hinge side of the door seal ! The seal looks ok and it took a while to eventually soak through. I just wonder if there is a way to use a sealant or something other than replace the whole seal.

Hi Billy

I've got the same issue, and have done everything bar fit a new seal, which I have bought and is sitting in a big box in my living room, waiting to be fitted. Pricey, at 130 sheets, and I hope it cures the problem......................

I had the exact same and have sorted it completly by simply pulling the seals out in the corners then carefully refitting them.

Mine's 3 door, if you'rs is a 5 door there may be a few other reasons other than seals such as roof rails etc.
