I have an '89 90.
I need to replace my drive shafts/half shafts/CV joints, front discs and pads and front wheel bearings.
Been told my rear wheel bearings are probably shot too.

Also been advised this isn't really a driveway job.

Any recommendations on where to go?? All Autos are booked up for weeks and weeks.
I don't want to go somewhere that will suck their teeth, then try and pull my pants down.
Once it's done I also need to get an MOT done.

That is definitely a driveway job, who told you otherwise. I have done all of that on my driveway as well as gearbox swaps etc. others on here have done full chassis changes on the driveway.
Wheel bearings are probably one of the easiest jobs you can do.
Drive shafts are easy once you have them out. See here (LINK) picture guide of the steps to remove the drive shaft, is only half the job of a swivel replacement, which the guide is for, and I have done on the driveway.

How far do you want to travel? I use an independent Landy guy near Thornbury for jobs I can’t do.

I've done pretty much all that not just on a driveway but at the side of the road. The only problem is having to hide all your tools from passers by every time you want to go in for a pee or to put the kettle on. Yes, it's nice to have somewhere indoors to work, but not essential.

Obviously, it's up to you whether you get a garage to do the work, but doing so regularly can make the cost of Land Rover ownership prohibitive. I don't begrudge garage mechanics their wages - they've got to put a roof over their heads and groceries on the shelves like everyone else. But I'm not a wealthy philanthropist, so generally speaking I just hire myself because I don't cost anything.

It can be done on a driveway.
The hardest part (from your list) is the CV joints which is also the most messy part.
The rest is pretty easy, you will need a long bar, a good rattle gun and a torque wrench.

New disks, pads and wheel bearings is a 2 hour job ... buy Timkin bearings and Corteco seals (not Britpart).
Disks can be Britpart or AllMakes
Also get a new set of caliper and wheel hub bolts (these can be Britpart too).

You could do all the work and fit all the parts above, and if you still have a problem (which you haven't told what that is) which turns out to be the CV joints it will be very easy for a garage to remove and refit the disks/hubs - less than 15 mins per side at a guess to get all the new parts off/on again.

Look at you with your fancy power tools I still do everything by hand, definitely a nice to have but not required.
