Why use a 4.6?
If it were me then the reasons I would use a 3.5 is because I already have a spare engine and also for me the originality factor, still using the original engine but with a supercharger.
If I could get hold of one I'd totally put in a 2L supercharged Rover V8 that TVR did.
Its a 3.5 with a reduced stroke, so its got a 88.9mm bore with stroke of 40.25mm. 230 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 266 Nm at 3,700 rpm. So a bit high for a 2 tonne RRC.

I think J E Developments do a 63mm stroke crank. Would take a 3.5 down to a 3.1 if you machined it to fit and got correct sized rods.
