After months of 'HDC inactive' on start up, it's now died :(

Missis just rang as he was going out and nothing. Lots of warnings messages, HDC inactive, trans failsafe select neutral, and somthin else too. No turn over just clicks.

Sooooo I'm guessing my battery has given up. Well I'm hoping that's what it is anyways :(

That's tonight's job then

When you fit the new battery makes sure you check the connections are good and that the alternator is giving you 14.2 volts or more.
There is a Hidden Test on the L322 that will show you voltage delivery to the Instrument Pack...I rarely get more than 13.5V shown on display...really should measure direct across Battery and find out what the battery direct voltage is!!

The wiring is so thin that there is a considerable volt drop, on the P38 the Faultmate shows 13.9v at the OBD connector but at the battery I have 14.2v. If you only have 13.5 at the battery I'd find out why before your battery dies from running half charged.:)

I had similar before Xmas, HDC Inactive coming up occasionally, then one day wouldn't start...just clicks. Jump started the Rangie and she was fine for a couple of weeks...then died again. Got new battery and everythings fine again.

The battery gets old and needs renewing. Simple as that.
