One thing we do is use two sets of vehicle ramps (the type your dad or grandad used) suitably rated they are a safe way to 4 wheel lift without a hydraulic ramp.

how much was he asking for it G.
he said he wanted scrap money.......... they took it out because they had an identical one break and drop a camper on one side and as they normally work on sports cars and race cars they didn't want to risk the other one going when it had an expensive or rare car on it so they bought 2 new ramps and got the other three serviced and checked at the same time

if i had a workshop nobody would have got a look in i would have snapped it up! as it was a good ramp, the one that broke had a faulty 'nut' on the screw
