Hi Stan, no I got this manifold for free at the time (the guy who gave it to me said it had been surface ground six months before, then his turbo went so he broke it for parts) I did take it to an engineering place with my original & it turns out this one was spot on, unlike the one that came off which was as bent (warped) as a nine Bob note, I keep checking & so far the stud kit I fitted is still OK, it's done about 10,000 miles since fitting. Hope you're keeping well, all the best.
Keeping well, ta for asking.
I think with the stud kit on you may well have a better chance of it staying straight and if has already been ground once then it is a bit less likely to warp again.
Been having fun getting mine to run right until I eventually disconnected the MAF which so many people say doesn't matter if you have de-EGRed it. It does bloody matter as I found out! Disconnected it is finally running much better. Which is a relief as I have to tow a trailer with another car on it back to Blighty day after tomorrow.
The MAF in question cost me well over £100 from Bournemouth Land Rover only a couple of years back. I'll have to source a decent one or just stick with running without one.
hope you're keeping well too!
Stan:):):)

Hi, yes I'm all good it's the wife's back problems that have disrupted life recently, of which you know only too well (although she did manage to camp with me at the East of England LR show after spending most of that week in hospital, tough old bird)!
I had seen your post about MAF disconnection & as I've always thought mine was a bit sluggish low down I decided to check/clean the MAP sensor (see pic) & check/clean the AAP sensor. I replaced the MAF with a Siemans 'OE' part a couple of years ago which according to the Foxwell is reading ok. None of that has made a difference so I'm going to check the waste gate/actuator hasn't seized as I'm not sure if the readings from the Foxwell mean the boost is low, again see pic taken going up a slight incline with foot down (have you any readings from yours if so is that turbo mod % duty thingy a bit low) ? I haven't tried disconnecting the MAF (my EGR is blanked as opposed to deleted) so I'll give it a go tomorrow just in case.

That MAP/IAT is well sh!tty, so a good blast with sensor cleaner should do it a world of good. The wastegate actuator seizing is quite common and has happened to me. Pain in the bum getting the rear bolt of the shield over the turbo out and even worse back in.:(
If your EGR is blanked i'm a bit surprised at the state of your MAP but then maybe this occurred before you blanked it. Mine has stayed remarkably clean ever since. Also the nuts came loose and disappeared on the wastegate diaphragm mount once on hols in Cornwall which led to limp mode over and over again.
Give your Mrs my regards and sympathies. She sure sounds like a tough'un camping after all that!;)

Thanks I'll forward your regards. Camping, she couldn't help one jot apart from saying "haven't you got that tent up yet" ?.
As I've had all the turbo etc off I know the cover won't be a problem but I will try the MAF disconnect first. Your right on the MAP front it's not been touched since I've owned it but it had a good clean yesterday :). I definitely haven't had limp mode but it just seems a bit flat. If it all checks out OK I might go for a stage one remap to improve the low down performance. All the best.
