its works fer years, ave even got Ant making gaskets for his scooter from cornflake packets. I would recommend removing the shiny stuff thou. dunno if it makes a difference but i always get shot of it and any gaskets ave made dint leak.

cut the packet to about 1/2" bigger than yer need. then sit it on top of part it gonna fit. now holding it firmly in place, start tapping round the edges and any bolt holes with a spanner or such.
pretty soon yule see the gasket start to take shape, if you dint fancy using spanner tappin to finish it, then once its marked you can use scissors. personally i just keep tapping away with me spanner till its completely cut out, the spanner method is also the best way to get them bolt holes cut out, unless yer got a hole punch the reet size.

.

Snap Used to make all the gaskets for me Bikes when I was into them. naver had any problems with em. I used to use a tiny BallPein hammer but the principles the same.

reet ..problem.. carb dint match manifold

possible solutions

1 make adapter,........... easy cheap and quick

2 get noo manifold,.... risk of snapped head studs and all that entails, wait period fer bit to arrive etc. yer can then sell old manifold

3 get noo carb.... fits straight on, no tears, yer still gotta wait fer it to arrive and yer can sell the old un to recope yer dosh.

if yer in a desperate hurry option 1 would be yer best bet

if yer wanna keep the carb yer got and int in a hurry then option 2 would apply

if yer dint mind an different carb and waiting a few days then option 3, i think, is yer best option.

it should be better - because it is a progressive choke Weber - yu might mind it is overfueling - and if so yu might need to get it re-jetted - thats all.

oh - is yo carb linkage or cable operated - coz the 2.5 is cable - snot a prob - done it with mine:D

the series carb is usually operated by a set of levers and a linkage that runs across the bulhead. My Weber 32/34 DTML is cable operated and yu need to remove the crap levers and stuff and fit a throttle cable from the pedal to the carb.
