Waxoyl - thought it was water resistant!

And I did apply it pretty liberally thinking more was better. I'll let whatever is left go off for a bit then give it another little spray in a month or so. I'd LOVE to stop the water getting in there in the first place - shocked at quite how much gets in around the seals etc which were also replaced for new. I've applied some dumdum type stuff into the corners of the frames where the window seal meets the frame - I think that's the main source of water getting in. Will give it the hosepipe test again at the weekend and apply more as required.

Whatever it says on the can i would not use waxoyl unless its in a spell of hot weather,everything has to be dry and warm,i also would not put a pressure washer anywhere near an anti corrosion treated surface,certainly not near any chassis access holes,i have seen peeps pressure washing their suspension to make things shiny but i would rather have a coat of oily grime,

If it cannot handle the pressure washer it cannot handle the road spray of many thousands of miles.

I then let this dry out for a week and even tarp up and put the fan heater under the car to warm it up and help it dry. Inspect for any devastation by poking and prodding with a screwdriver (only one spot where I have not wax oiled before....) And then reapply lots and lots of waxoil ! I don’t think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread but was unaware of alternatives and glad I have done something rather than nothing. Will look into alternative stuff to spray into the chassis.

I use old engine oil mixed with diesel in my old landrover that is not used on public roads but it’s a rust bucket and anything is betttet than nothing....
