Ive been loosing coolant and have found a small round hole on the flat side towards the alternator. Is there supposed to be a hole. Should there be a grubscrew or something to stop it ****ing out all my fluids. Glad of any assistance before shelling out for a new one

Hole is a telltail drain between waterpump bearings, to do exactly what it is doing. Seal has gone and water is leaking past first bearing. Change water pump.

Thanks. I only installed the pump about four months ago. Is there anything else which could make the pump fail early apart from buying dodgy ebay parts. The previous pump was working ok but I had a water leak around the gasket and occasional overheating. So I changed it and the viscous fan.

Thanks mate. if I plug the hole with a self tapper, can I continue to drive until I've got my hands on a replacement?
