Water pump problems

Just had a new OE water pump fitted to my def 200tdi and just 1000miles/3 weeks and its leaking again in the same place - underneath at the back of the fan belt. Im becoming f*cked off with the thing. Does anyone know if there could be another cause for the pump breaking?

I also noticed on the bottom of the sump close the crank, there is a big hole! it looks like a sump type plug (threaded) existed there, I immediatley switched the engine off of course. Or is it meant to be like this?

How bad is the leak ? A drip? Filling every day? Or ****ing out. Is the leak from the drain hole beneath the waterpump pulley underneath the pump hub. Which one of these pumps is it?

the hole in the sump you refer to is a breather. the thread in it is for a wading plug for off-roading

It is the one with the pink background. It is hard to see the exact location, I cant get to see as it is so close to the hub and has drained the filler tank over 60km. It was dripping every second. Strangely, the engine wont turn off either, I have to drop the clutch, must be a sticking solenoid,

Oh in fact, its neither of these pumps. The one I have has three feeds off to the left, with a tear drop fitting, pointing to about 20/25 past the hour.
