Water Pump Failed after 3000 miles!?

So I fitted a new pattern part about 3 months ago... had the weeping hole!

Now checking my diff levels and noticed the weeping hole again

I have attached a photo of the failed unit... looks like the grease has been pushed through the bearing... all O rings look OK and appear to have sealed properly - so not my fitting

I have fitted an OEM part now... all nice and dry after running up to temp... will see how long this lasts.

Has anyone else had a water pump fail so soon?... is it worth sending it back to Paddocks after 4 months?

seems like a bit of corrosion there... is your system filled with the proper 50% oat/distilled water mix all the time?...cos if you let it work much with regular water that's what happens, the oat is lubricant/anticorrosive too not just antifreeze

Yep.. it's always had 50% OAT coolant... surprised you can see corrosion on that photo... that part was only in for 3 months!?

Is that grease ooze normal?... the new one just fitted had a sealed bearing so no grease evident... the O rings seemed to be doing their job, so I can only see the coolant getting through a failed bearing seal?

... I can have faith in my spannering skills after all.

Quick update...

Paddocks refund came through to my account today... no need to return... I must say I was impressed with their service.
