Water leak and gearbox whine

Morning all

Been having a slight whine while driving and also a coolant leak(not o rings)
So i got under the car today checked transfer box and it was fine although pretty dirty so will be changing that. Looked around the gearbox and saw some pink fluid which i assumed was gearbox oil, but infact it was coolant, looked like it was coming from the front of the engine and running down to the sump. Possibly from water pump? Although the water pump looks pretty fresh. Changed within the last year i would say. Could i be losing water from there??
Gearbox was a little low so will be picking up some fluid in the morning, does the gearbox and transfer box take same atf? 02 vogue 4.6

Could be your valley gasket leaking, there are two coolant inlets at the front and two at the rear. HTH.

DEXRON IId or III for box and transfer box. Make sure you follow the correct procedure for topping up the gearbox, overfilling can be destructive.
