here we go again the carpet in the boot well is wet,i stripped carpet out boot well bone dry went to town with the hose pipe but it seems nothing is getting in,as the boot well has a lid where the jack is stored do they suffer from condensation

Mine certainly suffers from condensation but I'm sure in my case that the bulk of the water ingress was caused by over-assiduous jetwashing, water being forced past the door seal at boot floor level and under the plastic carpet retainer. Since ceasing this practice the damp is minimal.
I'm equally sure that this is not the only cause of this frequent issue and that other owners will make their suggestions. You'll probably find out by a process of elimination. Good luck!
 
Check the top window trim for perishing and check the headlining for dam when it has rained. Its properly running down the inside of the rear window. If you leave it, The water will creep to the rear courtesy light and short it out setting the alarm off when ever it rains.
 
I found if the glass presses too tight against the seal on the back door it leaks in places - sounds wrong but worked for me after I renewed my cables
