Water In Back of Car

Hey guys Australian Land Rover owner here, just been looking at this site for a while.. Decided to sign up.

My girlfriend got herself a tidy 2001 V6 Freelander with 90,000kms on it.. Great car, everything works like it should.. And it's pretty quick..

Anyways, under the little lid behind the backseat on the floor, there's that toolbox sort of area.. For some reason ours leaks when it rains and fills up with water...

Any ideas why this is (yes we have the back window wound all the way up :lol:)

common design enhancement. If yu do a search its been covered many times. Either that or drill a hole in the bottom to allow the water to drain out again.
 
This is an age old problem with aperture seals on many cars (and windscreen seals before the days of bonded screens), water getting under the seal where it pushes onto the bodywork.
Water enters the back of the seal at the top and/or sides, runs around the seal and runs out at the bottom inside the car having passed to the inside surface on its way around.

Carefully pull the tailgate seal off the body and put some non setting sealant into the groove at the top and sides and push it back on. Make sure that you centralise the top so it fits evenly at each top corner noting that the small rubber flap fits against the ‘outside’ of the plastic side trim.

I had a delux swimmin pool wiff mine, wot appins is the lid of the tool/pool
is made of plastic, un condensashun forms on this lid, un drips, toppin
up ya pool!!!
If ya got dry carpits around ya pool, yoo have the delux modul like
mine!! un wunt have to mess wiff seelin doors un stuff!!:decision: :clap2:
