Hello guys,

Disco1 V8 3.9L

In throttle body there is a water cooling line which is disconnected in my car as the 2 hose connectors are broken. Does this change in drive performance / or any impact. Should I consider replacing it ?

Hi, a f a i k that's for the throttle body heater/defroster, missing it can be a problem only if it gets extremely cold outside, many V8 owners are bypassing it cos it used to leak quite often

Water cooling ? Better to post a photo of what you have.
There should be two hoses, flow & return as shown below which is permanent what ever the temperature is, if they leak then tighten the hose clips or replace the rubber hose simple.

The heater is simple and quite easy and cheap to replace. However depending on where in the world you live it might not be needed, it is there to stop the air intake freezing in extreme temperatures.

I had early D1 that kept stalling when cold, it turned out that was blocked. Fixed it stone dead.

Hi, Attached are pics of the host connector. Actually the host connector is broken and unable to fix a hose in it. I live in the Middle East, minimum temperature can go is not less then 14 Celsius, this is also only on January. is it really
required to replace the throttle body to connect this water line ?

So the outlet on the inlet manifold supplying coolant to the plenum water jacket assembly must be now blanked off then. The three hose connectors involved are steal therefore can corrode the same way as core plugs can and do when the incorrect coolant mixture is used in an alloy engine.

I assume if your engine is running ok then you don’t need to bother.
The jacket assembly is still available. A genuine part is expensive for what it is, just a machined block of alloy with press fitted steal hose connections. Disco 1 Pt no are ERR1268 and for the inlet manifold outlet ETC6503.

The 3.5 RR has the identical kit, with the flow of engine coolant through the jacket assembly whatever the summer or winter outside temperatures are with out any ill effects, based on my V8 knowledge here in the UK😊
