Hello
Does anyone has experience with egr removal from a eu3 td5 engine?
I have the removal kit but I have some concerns about how to close the cooling loop. Do I need any special fitting, pipe? What is the diameter of the pipe which can connect the inlet and outlet pipes (I have measured 10 and 12mm)?
There are 2 vacuum pipes. Do i need to simply plug them? Will I need any additional setting on the ECU?
Thanks

The usual method to blank the EGR with the heat exchanger is to fit the blanking plate on the EGR end of the heat exchanger and leave it in place.
The two vacuum pipes should be blocked off.
Some EGR blanking kits will contain two little rubber plug things which are either fitted on the EGR control unit itself or they can be fitted on the loose ends of the pipes and then the pies can be tidied up out of harms way.
No changes to the ECU or anything else are necessary.

Thanks! So the one blanking plate what i have should be placed at the end of the heat exchanger, right? The egr valve can be removed and the cone be put there. No other blanking plate needed before the heat exchanger ( I have seen a solution on the net with 3 blanking plates. One on the exhaust manifold, one before and one after the heat exchanger)?

The cleanest job is to remove everything and blank only the exhaust port , remove the cooler too, you can find silicone end caps to blank the oil cooler outlet and the tank's port from where the coolant pipes are coming cos that's a separate circuit and doesnt affect the engine cooling flow at all, the best is to blank the vacuum at the T piece as shown in the pic

Ok, Thanks! The hardest part is every time to find the small thinks for the job, like cups for blanking cooling and plugs for the pipes:-(
Would be nice to have optional kits for EGR removal kit which includes those cheap but important parts.
