It's good you have someone who can and will work on it if you can't, the small comunity I live in has two mechanical workshops and neither of them will touch Landrovers, this is Toyota country, they treat Landys like "spawn of the devil".
To be honest, I don't think it's worth getting a hard copy, the RAVE download will probably give you everything you need and then some. And it's at the best possible price .... free!

There maybe will be some blown small bulbs in that area, but how to access I can't tell you, arecall the fuses for illumination ok? If your digi clock illumination is out, I have replaced the mini type bulb in it, a bit tricky to get the clock out of it's spot but once you've seen it done its reasonably easy, my mate used an old credit card slid in over the top of the clock to release the "sprag" that holds it in, it had me baffled how to get it out but he'd done the same job on his D1 prior, nice to have the daytime clock display back after all the years without.
I've replaced the clock bulb and the automatic gear selector ones too
Your doing good, took me 5 years to track down someone to fix the clock, I'm into priorities, (well that's one way to put it).
Clock was the first thing I did. I hate running late so needed it fixed
Lovely looking unit, well worth spending time on to "tweak" to perfection. Mine's the old warhorse in my avatar stuck in a creek crossing, a darker blue and a lot more "used" looking, I put a winch on after that trip.
I'm hoping it doesn't come to that but if it does then I'll not be driving as can't afford insurance unless it's on a classic policy
Not as many rust problems here but there are some D1's that are slowly disentegrating, mine was solid and the rust had not got a hold. Interior looked like a pack of hounds had been living in it, hood lining down carpet filthy but all fixable to an extent. Only needed a clutch, (the classic release arm fulcrum perforation failure), but I did the lot, now after 8 years of ownership, apart from the tinkering, (waterpump, timing belt), it has been reasonably reliable and it's had some hard use.
My interior isn't far off yours but it's comfortable and does the job I bought it for
