Is it just me or is my discovery 300 running a bit cool? I know it's winter so perhaps that's the reason but I can take the old girl out on a journey around 8miles average speed 50-60mph and the needle moves but hardly above the cold position?? Or maybe a lazy gauge..

my disco was like that, tried thermostats and viscous coupling to no avail. took ages to get to normal, but once there the needle never budged and the heater was great.

I just did a 25mile round trip and the gauge reached a bit below the half way point when I was at a steady 60mph but once I got into a 30mph zone my gauge dropped down again to just above cold? It's defo playing games with me what could that be??

Sounds about right to me, Dam cold drive to work for the first few miles. I am looking at a water temp guage to get a more accurate read out of whats going on. After i have that i can play around a bit more and see the effects. I did wonder about putting a bypass on the oil cooler.

i think most of the problem is the shear size of the interior. i takes ages to heat all that space.
mt rrc heater blows warm after about 1mile but its bloody cold for 3 or 4 miles.
