what i was thinking was, that a single sheet would be higher up so giving more ground clearance.
i haven't been under with a tape measure or owt, so don't know if even this would sit higher than the original due to sump etc... clearance issues.

No it won't ! There's very little clearance so you're pretty much stuck with the position of the original, that's why you can't risk too much flex!
I suppose it will be, I was thinking more of the leading edge. but I haven't measured it.Won't the eggsauce be the lowest point anyway?

Looks like, in that case, it would make more sense to fill the void, where the plastic sits, with more ally. At least that will give peace of mind as when approaching anything rocky I get a bit fluffy

I reckon thats all it would need - the alloy bash plate on the front of the brackets seems pretty beefy to me .
Bugger .
that's what i thought when i took it off for the first time, but the plastic bit just seemed.........naff tbh.
i'd like a qoute for the plate and tigging when your both ready
Cool, look forward to hearing seeing a completed unitThat'll be an easy one. I just need to sit down with DD and define the shape, then I can create the CAD data and start getting some quotes on fabbing it.
Will.
Only take ten mins! and six special coffees
