right guys and gals im wantin to change my disco into a pickup, iv seen many about but doubt that they are "legal"

i know about chassis mods etc and needing a sic, but who do i need to get intouch with about body modifications?

and what is classed as radical body change?

hope somebody can shed some light as i dont want to do the work then get my hands slapped and car taken from me.:(

You could try speaking to VOSA, and ask them.

I've always found them to be very helpful, as they find that most people can't be bothered to ask, and then get upset when their vehicle is classed as being noncompliant!

You need to get in contact with Kevin Rooney @ ACE.
He's been helping folk deal with the ridiculous amount of red tape that you're going to encounter since the 70's.

You may get lucky with DVSA (Drivers and vehicle standards Agency) their new name from March , but depends who you get . Body mods are not as problematical as chassis , but need to take into account C&U regs with regards to lighting , seatbelt mount areas, mudguards etc . as suggested custom vehicle mod forums etc would be useful , as well as ACE as suggested .
