My l reg is a 200tdi,The 300tdi's came along in the soft dash models. The 200 + 300 look almost alike in the classic.easyest way to tell is the angle of the thermostat housing where the top hose go's on.Also the 300tdi will have an egr system where the 200 won't

300 tdi on a K plate was a bog standard factory fit on a Range Rover Classic.TDI
111bhp @ 4000rpm.
I meant 200 tdi not 300.

To the best of my knowledge the 300tdi did not appear until about March 1994,and then I do beleive it was only available from Land Rover with automatic transmission.
Sorry abot the faux pas .

Nah,it was stock for manual and auto for the Ma chassis model year - my dear wife has a manual one, which is why we go out in my Disco, cos its an auto.

OK - maybe this wasn't such a good buy, the viscous coupling is locked up
Can get hold of a transfer box with manual diff lock - is this a relatively straight swap (barring any differences in gear ratios)
Simply a case of swapping transfer boxes and associated linkages to get diff to operate ?
Thanks
