Hi could someone be so kind as to post a link or an image to what the spanner looks like as I need to remove the fan to change the thermostat thanks.
If you get the spanner on and give it a good whack on the end with a hammer it should come undone without having to hold it,when you put it back do the same, they're sort of self tightening while rotating should be safeIve had to go to halfrauds to get one as I ve only got today to get it done just hoping it works as theres only one spanner.
Are you going the right direction?if you're in front of it you need to whack it to the leftNo such luck spent an hour trying to get it to budge am gonna try and knock something up that will hold it tight while I try and undo it.
I tried that. Didn't work no matter how hard I hit it. Easier with fan spanners. Are you going the right direction?if you're in front of it you need to whack it to the left
+1 wot he said.I tried that. Didn't work no matter how hard I hit it. Easier with fan spanners.
You're probably even luckier that it didn't fall off by itself!Mine was probably ready to fall off by itself lol, always been lucky!
its better not to use a chisel but a long flat headed punch and hit the center of each flat, once ytouve hit each flat a time or two it comes off without damage to the nutbefore I got the spanner for the job the fitter in my work hit it a crack with a hammer and chisel and it just spun off worth a go if your stuck
